Woman Holding a Balance (1662-1663)

This painting is about a pregnant woman (with the traditional Virgin Mary outfit) measuring the spirit of human beings. There is also a painting hanging on the wall about the last judgment. As the drawing is full of Christian background, an underground church was designed. Besides, to emphasis the feeling of lights coming from "heaven", which is the most important part of the drawing, I designed an underground space with skylights that creates an atmosphere with the "lights from heaven". It is a quiet private space for praying and meditation.
