Wind & Sun Direction
Since the direction of winter wind is from west to east, the gallery (located at the west side) is designed with the highest level in order to block the cold wind. Besides, the eastern part of the buildings are designed with a relatively lower level, in order to maximise the morning sun during winter.
Traffic Analysis
The location of the stock room entrance is designed with the consideration of the traffic.
Route Analysis
There are three main route entering the gallery: From bus stops / railway station, City or Park.
Buildings Analysis
The buildings surrounding the gallery are mainly restaurants, commercial and residential.
Sight Analysis
The apartment is risen to a certain level with a City view.

Entrance & Front Garden
The large painting attracts pedestrians' attention and also act as a symbol of the gallery. A sliding wall act as the entrance to the front garden, it will only open during opening hours. In the The front garden separates the gallery to the busy street, creating a city within the city. Besides, the trees prevents pedestrians from see into the apartment, maintain the privacy for the artist. The famous Salute to Five Bells is located at the courtyard area with a pool in front of it.
Gallery
There is a viewing glass located on the floor of the gallery level (to view the reflection of the long painting). Also, a rectangular opening is located on the wall in eye level (to view the large paintings inside the glass box), this can keep visitors in an optimised distance from seeing the paintings. There is a resting space where you can look down to the office area.
Large Painting Room
Visitors are allowed to interact with the people entering the courtyard while standing on the balcony. The entrance of the large painting room framed the painting inside as visitors entering the space. The wall inside are designed with sloped edge to reflect sun lights to the ceiling with a large painting on it. There is a glass floor allowing visitors to see the reflection of the ceiling painting from the pool in the courtyard.
Small Painting Room
The second balcony space got a relatively more open view to the backyard and the park. The opening of the gallery space acted as a framing window while looking back into the gallery. Windows of the small painting room also acts as framing openings while looking back into the room.
Office
Visitors exit the gallery building through the office area which they can buy any paintings from there. visitors can also look back into the gallery space located at the second floor.
Courtyard Gallery
A courtyard gallery is located behind the long painting. The pool and the glass for of the large painting room allows visitors to view the painting above.
Backyard & Access to Parking
The backyard separates the gallery to the parking space. A sliding wall design is also used for the access.
Underground Stockroom
The stockroom is located at the underground space. The access is located at the corner of the parking space behind the trees. A sliding wall design is used. The stockroom is also connected the office for the convenience and efficiency of storing and selling paintings.
Living Area & Glass Box
The entrance for the private area is located secretly. The living area with a kitchen is connected to the glass box, allowing the artiest to have a private exhibition.
Apartment
The apartment is linked with the living area with a staircase. The large window allows the client to have a nice city view. The wall for the large painting is hanging from the roof, allows sun light to enter the apartment from below.
Workshop
The workshop is connected to the apartment though a glass bridge. The workshop is located inside the gallery space. However, it is separated from the public access. A large skylight allows the artist to have a sky view while working inside the room. A wall is located in front of the bathroom to separate the two spaces.
